After many successful DXpeditions in the past, Günter DL2AWG and I, DM2AUJ were wondering where to go next. Because of the moderate propagation, especially on the upper bands, finding a suitable entity was not easy.
Having had a closer look on the Most Wanted Lists we decided for Kosovo, one of the youngest members of the DXCC Society. The decision for Kosovo was made because we had the idea, that from this moderate rare country we could have good chances to achieve an impressive number of QSOs as well as giving a great number of OPs the chance to work new slots for the DXCC Challenge-Award.
The Z66DX team consists of 6 experienced operators and is excellently equipped with powerful stations and well tested antennas. Our plan is to operate between October 15th and October 28th 2020 (24/7) with up to 3 stations simultaneously from 160m to 10m. Sorry, no 60m possible.
After the good experiences our friends made in El Salvador (HU1DL) with wire-antennas we decided to leave the heavy beam antennas at home. Nevertheless, we will have sufficient mast material with us to build up an effective antenna farm. Depending on conditions we will set our focus on the low-bands, especially for our friends in North America and Asia. We will operate the popular modes CW, SSB and FT8.
See You in the pile-ups !
