MARCH 26, 2020 – Better news. The team are now in Santiago. The Russian embassy has arranged flights for them. The long journey home looks to be around the corner.
MARCH 25, 2020 – Following update (translated) was posted in a Russian DX forum by Vasily, R7AL.
Finally, the team went ashore (they had been XR8RRC/MM while waiting to anchor) at Puerto Montt. They were given health checks and everything ok. They cannot get tickets yet to fly home. Currently they drive a pick-up truck to Santiago (800km travelled, 300 to go).

MARCH 17, 2020 – The team are on a ship anchored off Puerto-Natales. Santiago international airport is closed. At the moment, there is no way for them to return to Santiago. The situation is critical, but they are in a good spirits!
