It‘s not a matter of the local authorities in Hongkong, it‘s a matter of the ITU Radio Regulations stating that the last character of a call sign has to be a letter. Vy 73, Hans, DK5JI

I aksed about this by email yesterday and was told that the last chaarchter is a letter O not number zero, and this is how it is set up on QRZ.com (as an alias on VR2HK): “Thank you for your email, the callsign in the website is correct, that is VR2HK9O, that is letter “O”. Because the authority only allow us to use letter for the last digital in this callsign, thanks for your enquire again! Looking forward to meet you in the air.”
