Douglas Haig, VK9JD has recently arrived on Christmas Island. Currently, he has no equipment but Cliff, VK9VKL left behind some masts and aerials which he intends to use upon finding a better location.
Initial plans are for Douglas to setup some permanent aerials, form a club house and erect a 2m repeater to assist visiting amateurs. He has spoken to the local tourism office who are very happy to assist with this, eventually taking bookings for accommodation and rental cars etc.
Once this project is underway and completed, Douglas will update DX-World (and WIA magazine) so stay tuned..
