JANUARY 16, 2022 – With communications coming out of Tonga almost nil, it’s remarkable some pictures and videos have surfaced. The ones below are believed to have been sent using the University of South Pacific’s satellite internet connection, and are of Pangai village on Lifuku island + Haapai island. Roads ripped up. Seems some of those massive chunks are pieces of seawall.

Hi,
I was wondering if there has been any contact with HF stations in Pangai.
We have friends on Uoleva, the next Island south who we are worried about and would greatly appreciate if anyone could put a call through. Our friends run Fanifo Lofa and have a marine VHF so if someone could try a relay a call through.
