DXpedition Recordings

On April 20, 2006, the Aves Island 2006 DXpedition YX0A initiated its transmissions and several hours later, our 80 meter SSB and digital operator Jose Valdes YV5LIX suffered a severe heart attack that took away his life. His teammates decided to continue the DXpedition in his honor, using the callsign YX0LIX under the immediate approval of the Venezuelan National Commission of Telecommunications officers present in the DXpedition. His body was airlifted by helicopter to the frigate and sailed to Caracas.
