NEWS UPDATE — The first part of our DXpedition is approaching its end. We conclude that we are very far away from Europe and only the ones with good antennas have managed to get into our log.
Friday we dismantled one of two Spiderbeams. During lunchtime we will visit local school and hand over goods for pupils as part of Hams with Hearts program.
Saturday early in the morning we will dismantle low band vertical. During Saturday all other antennas will be taken down, except EFHW-80-10 which will be left for the last night. One station will be on the air Saturday. In the evening closing dinner will happen, which will mark an end of our T30L Dxpedition.
Sunday 11:50 we are flying to Nauru. See you from C21WW.
SEPTEMBER 10 – “Yesterday whole day mains power was missing, we were using generator power. We are using 2 stations due to lack of propagation”. More updates here. All pictures credit T30L team.
SEPTEMBER 6, 2019 – First logs also uploaded. Sometimes they have issues with internet and mains power.

We should thank them for their time, effort and THEIR money. Complaining is turning into a common practice here – from time to time a simple “thank you” would be nice as well, even if they don’t meet individual’s expectations. The rationale of waiting “a couple of years” makes no sense to me, since even during the sunspot minimum it is still possible to work them in EU, of course not on all possible bands. Furthermore “a couple of years later” some might not have another chance to work them …
Guys at T30L: thank you for what you do and for giving me a ATNO (no. 325)! I managed to work you on 20m (with a simple HexBeam) and on 30m (with an even simpler antenna, actually just a piece of wire hanging arround up and down – EndFed). So yes, it is possible to work T30L, all what it takes is time and patience and that should be every ham’s virtues, right?
Good luck guys. And please be careful, otherwise the same might happen to you what KC0W experienced on that island.
Stop whining , they are doing their best.

“due to lack of propagation” – why do people have to go on DXpeditions into the PACIFIC in the middle of the sunspot minimum? Wait a couple of years, and everybody will be happy, the operators and the DX’ers back home. At least from the view of a (West) European 😉
