JANUARY 1, 2020 — Russian Robinson Club (RRC)’s members Victor UA3AKO, Yuri UA0KBG and Alexander RA3AV are preparing an expedition to Kosa Dvukh Pilotov Island IOTA AS-207NEW, Chukchi Sea Coast Centre group, RDA: CK-05, WW LOC: AP18gg, RRA: RR-11-05. This new IOTA group will be activated for the first time.
The expedition will use R207RRC callsign.
The expedition is planned for early April 2020. Estimated dates are from 3rd to 10th of April. Due to the very complex logistics and rapidly changing weather conditions the exact “on air” dates will be advised separately by Andrew EU7A, the expedition’s pilot. The planned period of the operation is at least 5 days. Under favorable weather conditions, the air time may be extended up to 7-8 days. At least two simultaneous operating positions will be used.
Bands: 40, 30, 20, 17, 15 meter bands.
Modes: CW, SSB, possibly FT8 in F/H mode.
Transivers: Elecraft K-3 – 2 pcs, ICOM IC-7200 – 1 pc, FT-897-1 pc
Amplifiers: 500 w – 2 pcs, 700w – 1 pc.
Antennas: 20m – 4SQ, 40/30/17/15m- individual GP for each band.
Power – 2 generators with a capacity of 3.2 kW each (1 backup).
Information about the history of the island and news about the expedition will be posted on the QRZ.COM page and expedition site: http://r207rrc.ru
The online log will be available after the expedition. No internet/mobile coverage is there.
QSL is via UA3AKO (OQRS, Direct, Bureau). We strongly recommend that you order QSL through ClubLog OQRS (direct/bureau). Please use only one method. For example, if you’ve ordered a QSL through ClubLog OQRS, don’t send your QSL through the bureau. Save your money and manager’s time and efforts.
We need your financial support because of the complex and expensive logistics.
PayPal address: r207rrc@gmail.com
To persons provided financial support before the expedition R207RRC QSL card will be sent first of all without any additional payment to the addresses listed on the QRZ.COM (if there is a call sign in the expedition log, of course).
