The famous Russian traveller, writer, artist and archpriest of the Russian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, Fyodor Konyukhov R0FK will join a Poseidon Expedition and set off to the top of the Earth on the world’s largest and most powerful icebreaker – 50 Let Pobedy (50 years of Victory)
This is already Fedor’s fourth expedition to the North Pole, but this time it will be special. The icebreaker will set sail on July 11, 2021 from Murmansk. Having reached the northernmost point of the planet, together with the Poseidon Expeditions team, he will set up camp, equip a mini-polar station, where he will remain to study the intensity of ice melting and their drift routes as well as conducting and analyzing the presence of micro-plastics at the North Pole.
He will QRV on air as R0FK/POLE on 20m using an FT-450 transceiver, 100 W, 12 volt battery, solar panels and GP antenna. Activity will be daily (from the moment of landing on drifting ice) at 04:00 UTC in the area of 14333 +/- kHz.
