NOVEMBER 14, 2021 – Over a year has passed since this initial info was released. On the ground support is still available and new preparations will begin in the early new year with a view to activating AF-115 in the last quarter of 2022. A lot of planning is needed. The callsign may also change. Further updates to follow.
AUGUST 25, 2020 – Earlier this year, an experienced IOTA team were issued with the callsign ST6SIT. Their intention was to activate Mukawwar island, AF-115 – a never before activated IOTA in the Red Sea, off Sudan. Paperwork, on the ground support and planning was ongoing then Covid-19 struck. Like everyone and everything else, the team will wait until the Covid situation improves globally with a view to eventually renewing the ST6SIT license and restarting plans.
