Brand new transceiver from ICOM covering VHF/UHF/uW (144-430-1240-2400-5600Mhz and possibly 10Ghz (note asterisk in image).
More info released during the Tokyo Ham Fair (August 20-21) and in the video below:
I see zero use for this radio. Period.
Concentrate on tri-band (2m/1.25/70cm) hi-power 100w plus)mobiles with Dstar instead.
9-cm band is missing, 3 cm is an extra box @ 0.5 W. Not much, but ok. Don’t see pre-amplifiers and power amplifiers can be attached without high effort fpr switching. Using VOX? No-go. Is there a tri- or quad-plexer to sum-up all the RF paths? Like to use a multi-octave horn feed with a single RF connector.
Please add also 3400 MHz. 9cm is in some European countries a good contest-QRG. Lets use it!
add 10GHz! The 6cm DX segment is at 5760MHz Limit of 6cm at 5600MHz is nonsense. Because 6cm will be damaged by WIFI, much better will be install 3cm unit
