UPDATE – With earlier concerns about the trip being postponed due to Covid, the team report this IOTA expedition is still on. They are watching closely weather & sea forecasts as landing is very difficult; even a small swell will not allow a landing. Activity planned for 20, 30 and/or 40m + VHF station too. Probably CW and SSB only. QSL via EB7DX.
*A reminder that, although IOTA EU-123 is not rare, the Bass Rock itself has only ever been activated three times (1997, 2001, 2008).
NOVEMBER 10, 2020 – Team consists of MM0OBT, MM0NDX, MM0OKG + cameraman. Tentative date: Weekend of April 17-18, 2021. Boatman arranged.
SEPTEMBER 22, 2020 – Team MS0INT has today been granted permission to land on the Bass Rock (EU-123) and to undertake an IOTA DXpedition from there. Firm dates and full details to be announced, but likely early next year (February, March or April) before any activity. The Bass Rock has only ever been activated three times (1997, 2001, 2008) according to research. The team is indebted to Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Sir Hew Dalrymple, for allowing them to land on his island.
