There was a time period when CR2X dominated the European contesting landscape. All EU ARRL DX Contest and CQWW SOAB contest records were captured by Radio Arcala, OH8X, group´s Atlantic outpost with their associates in Azores.
In this coming weekend´s ARRL DX SSB Contest (March.4/5) they will make their feet wet again and along with the maintenance call also testing their hill top QTH, using the CU2AA call sign. This slick call belongs to Jacinto Gil, CU2AA, who is 86-years serious ham, the oldest amateur radio operator in Azores and former CT2AO.
