Russian and Belarusian radio amateurs have always taken part in the contests of the “CQ” magazine with great pleasure and achieved significant results. Unfortunately, in the updated “CQWW 2022” Contest Rules: 1st document dated March 17, 2022: https://cqnewsroom.blogspot.com/2022…pation-by.html and updated document version dated August 31, 2022: https://cqnewsroom.blogspot.com/2022…lating-to.html hosted by “CQ” magazine, a number of insulting remarks were made against radio amateurs in these two countries. Such decisions are discriminatory and completely infringe on the rights of Russian and Belarusian amateur radio participants. In addition, this decision is based on russophobia, discrimination based on nationality and significantly damages the basic principles of the amateur radio community. In other words, the actions of the organizers of the contests damage the most fundamental concept – the HAM SPIRIT. In addition, this decision is contrary to the international fundamental principles of IARU (International Amateur Radio Union). In the current situation, radio amateurs from Russia and Belarus do not see any prospects for participation in these competitions held by “CQ” until the restrictions are completely lifted. We demand the annulment of such an illegal decision without any additional conditions. Stop discrimination, degrading acts and xenophobic attacks!

Bad move for ham spirit. I always thought, no politics, no profanity and no business on the bands. This is going backwards. Common people cannot do much to a dictators action and moreover, we are an old bunch who love a dying hobby. 73s Krish

Say hello to the members of the committee and tell them that they do not understand people well, and especially Russian people. Until you return ham spirit to contest , there will be fewer and fewer people willing to work in it

That is discrimination, these people are not to blame for bad political decisions of the government’s where they live.
Me and most of my friends radio amateurs will no longer take part in the CQ. Come on, goodbye!!!
You didn’t read the Oceania DX Contest blurb over on dxworld Facebook, did you? Published for all to see there.
You didn’t publish information that the Oceania DC Contest Committee has also disqualified UA and EW amateurs from the contest. Why?
It’s another shameful act that is causing serious damage to amateur radio.

Yet another bad decision. Do you guys even get input from Contest participants? You know. The ones that really matter?
