Tevfik, TA1HZ (ex-ZD8HZ) has now moved to the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC). His QTH is Iskele, and mentions he has received the necessary permit from local authority to be on the air as 1B/TA1HZ. QSL via eQSL. More here

Tefvik TA1HZ when active as ZD8HZ
* Readers will likely know that 1B is not a recognised DXCC entity.
I note that SV3AUW has worked s01ws in Spanish Sahara 7 times according to Clublog. It would appear that the status of s0 licences are similar to that of 1B albeit s0 is accepted as a separate DXCC entity. Do I detect a political view being expressed here as it is apparent that it is not an issue of principle.

Local Authorities does not issue Radioamateur Licenses, only the Cyprus TCW in this case can do and please rephrase your foot-note “Readers will likely know that 1B is not a recognised DXCC entity”
If 1B is not recognised by ITU/IARU, it is plain Piracy.
