Today I’m a DXpedition (ham radio) greater solidarity (English version)
Many friends from within are what help me through private donations, to buy my tickets and continue traveling and so carry out a new DXpedition.
I am fortunate and confidence of having all of them, certainly I was won by all my previous DXpedition, a long journey to this day.
Journey that took me through South America and parts of Central America.
For those who are not amateur and do not know it’s a DXpedition, can briefly explain that a DXpedition is the international designation of an activity carried out by radio amateurs, it is basically an expedition to what is considered an exotic location by global players, maybe because of its remoteness, access restrictions or simply because there are very few active radio amateurs there. DX is a telegraphic abbreviation for “distance” or “distant”, which is used until today.
There is a great job to make a DXpedition for many others of this, they think that one goes on holiday to this place and while traveling pleased to join with doing what one likes but in my case (radio), everything takes their commitment and dedication. I do not stayed at luxury hotels, step procedures endless permits for my radios and many others I risk without proper permission, an amount the station as possible, sometimes with spectacular antennae and others with a simple wire, call for hours waiting air openings communicate and spread to many more aspects involving a DXpedition.
But through all this, you have a final result, which makes me happy knowing that hundreds of colleagues from around the world will be watching to hear my CQ CQ CQ DX DX DX …
All this without a doubt, always conducted with great support from other radioaficioandos colleagues who have opened their hearts to me giving place to sleep, eat, have shown me their cities and made me part of their family time. To all of them I am eternally grateful.
But so much love, so much support feel today after so many trips I walked, this can not be limited to a simple DXpedition (activation), to feed my own egos to have been in one or another remote site.
This hobby can give much more, do emissions from these places, granting QSL and operate indicative of countries or regions that are often marked by great poverty in economic terms. I feel this is a very frivolous image of amateur radio.
As amateur I can do many other things in these regions than just a DXpedition, I can: work with aid organizations (NGOs), for example, to provide, install and teach handle communications equipment that will improve the standard of living of the native people; health services to support arming radio links to respond more quickly to the population; install equipment to foster contacts between schools, villages and groups of people living in remote centers.
These are just some ideas that I have and I want to realize.
Radio is the only way to reach remote communities with high levels of illiteracy, no Internet connection or to an electricity grid. It is the means of communication par excellence among a large section of the world population, and often the only one available.
I invite you then to keep traveling with me, now I need more than ever the support of all of you, keep giving more and more interesting for everyone and also will cooperate DXpedition and I’ll put squarely on the problems of each region to visit, giving all that is done from small Radio.
Do I have you accompany me?
Start on March 18, 2016 in the small port of Melinka, which is located in Ascension Island, north of the Aysen region, in the Archipelago of the Guaitecas which in turn corresponds to Chonos Archipelago, Chile.
we will install together, complete a Marine VHF station (with antenna) a native fisherman from the island, which has a traditional fishing boat and have no resources to have a radio for use in any emergency.
Who can work with a Marine base used in good and Marine VHF
antenna in good condition, or material to, write me message via Facebook or E-mail: [email protected]
Everything will be documented and then published in the usual places our activity.
Thank you !!
